  • Wow!  It's really been 3 months since I posted on here?  It's been pretty busy.  We have been to FL, CO, MD, & IN since then.  By the time Karalyn was 10 weeks old she had been in 14 different states!  She is a good traveler though, so that was a blessing.  Here's a brief list of where the trips were.

    Florida-
Eby family reunion in Blountstown.  My family took two cars down with a baby in each car.  We saw family, visited the beach, went to Gulf World (sorta like a smaller version of Sea World), and I went deep sea fishing with some of the others.

    Colorado-
Lanita's family (and Vince) all packed up in a 15 passenger van to travel out to CO to see her sister Joanna, who is working at New Horizons.  We were at Royal Gorge, 3 of us rode the SkyCoaster there, saw a ranch rodeo (complete with wild cow milking), explored Bishop's castle, and over all had a good time.  The 22 hours each way in the van with 3 in car seats went much better than expected.

    Maryland-
Charles family cabin weekend at Charter Hall.  Overall just a relaxing weekend hanging out.  Our nice homemade pontoon boat was great though.  Here's how to make one.  Take 1 picnic table, 2 canoes, and a handful of people.  Place the picnic table into both canoes (2 legs in each canoe).  Take some cards and paddle out to where the "rich folk's boats" are anchored on the sandbar.  Put the picnic table down on the sandbar and play cards while everyone comments on your nice ride.

    Indiana-
BMA Convention weekend.  We had a good time going out for Saturday's sessions.  Very good speakers and topics.  It was cool getting to see a bunch of people from EBI for the first time since this spring.

Now we are in the camping season.  Yutzy family camping is over and we have Beachy camping and Young Married's camping to go.

    Today's Helpful Hint for Today:
Wings and BBQ Beef (not for the same meal) are always a hit at the firehouse.

  • Three weeks + and counting

Well, we have returned from IN (actually we did about 11 days ago).  We had a good time out at EBI, but it was good to get home.  Lanita especially was ready to get home as she continues to be more and more pregnant.  I guess there are not really degrees of that, you are or you aren't, but you know what I mean.  She finished all the cooking that she needed to do, and I finished a lot of jobs, although not everything on the list.  Of course, the list I started with doubled (if not tripled) in length over our time out there, and I only had maybe 1/3 of the number of things that were on the original list left on the final list undone.  Anyway, we are back to normal life here at home- well, at least for the next few weeks yet until we start a new normal.

'Nita had her baby shower on Monday, and I played Rook with a few others at home while she was there.  We were blessed to get quite a bit of things from the shower.  We need to pick up a few more things before the baby comes, but not too much.

Work has been pretty slow lately, so nothing too exciting to talk about there.

    Today's Helpful Hint for Today:
A piece of copper tubing is too smooth to use to try to repair a power steering hose by just cutting the hose, inserting the tubing, and using a couple of hose clamps.  Once there is good pressure on the hose, the tubing will get pushed right out, even though the hose clamps were really tight.  Using a piece of tubing with a couple of compressed ferrells on it will work, at least for about a week.  Best option: buy a new hose when possible.

    Have a good one!

  • I know it's been a while.  We've been pretty busy though.  Right now we have been at EBI (Elnora Bible Institute) for just over 4 days.  Lanita is one of the cooks and I am doing maintenance and different odd jobs around the place.  There is enough work to keep both of us busy most of the day, although 'Nita gets a break in the afternoon for a couple of hours normally between lunch and supper.

We were busy before we came out here getting ready to come out here and I was busy getting some painting done.  I painted what was our guest room and we moved into that room.  Then I painted our old room which will now be our nursery.  We registered just before we came out here, so if you wanted to buy baby Eby a gift, there are some ideas at Target and Wally-World.  (I know that was a shameless plug- don't feel pressured to get something, but it's fine if you do!)

Work has been rather slow the past while.  Nothing too exciting other than an old man that was reacting to his meds and having hallucinations.

    Today's Helpful Hint for Today:
If you are going to cut a water line that you can't turn off, put a big bucket under the pipe and have someone hold a little bucket where it will catch the stream and divert it into the big bucket.  Disregard that if you would like to see an impressive gyser.

    Have a good one!
Eric (for me, 'Nita, and baby)
